What’s your most embarrassing song currently in your Playlist?
I’m actually a big fan of podcasting at the moment. Mostly podcasts about creativity and the storytelling process, audio fiction, and geek culture. When I do listen to music, though, I enjoy a wide and rather eclectic variety.
Who is your favorite storyteller?
I would have to say Professor JRR Tolkien is my favorite storyteller. With The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, his writings have set many standards for contemporary genre fiction, and these foundational works have inspired countless other pieces of writing, art, film, and music.
Most amazing encounter with someone in need?
One day a few years ago I was out running errands, and I passed a homeless man on the street. He had this expression on his face of hopelessness, and I struck up a conversation with him. I asked him for his name and I shook his hand, and it really seemed to have a profound affect. Perhaps it had been some time since anyone wanted to know this man’s name. It may have been some time since another person looked at him like he was a person, not a social dilemma, or a burden, or a number. All I had to offer him that day was his humanity, and for Jeff, I think that was something that both he and I needed to be reminded of.
Why do you do what you do for i58:10 Media?
I’ve worked in media in a number of capacities, but nothing compares to the knowledge that at the end of the day, the work we do will have a direct impact on someone in need. My goal is to continually hone and perfect my craft, to set the bar as high as it can possibly go with top notch radio production, so that in the end our clients will have the resources they need to help as many people as possible.
Describe your family?
I have four children: Brody, Seth, Ian, and Harmony. Each of my kids is unique and talented in their own special way, and my hope for each one of them is that they will pursue their passions in life with everything they have.
What is a quote that has had the biggest impact on your life?
